I’m a How to Be a Redhead Ambassador!

What is How to Be a Redhead?
How to Be a Redhead is a beauty and lifestyle brand dedicated to empowering natural redheads and those with red hair through tailored beauty products, tips, and resources. Founded by sisters Adrienne and Stephanie Vendetti, the brand focuses on accessible, redhead-friendly makeup and skincare, providing guidance on confidence, hair care, and sun protection.
I first discovered How to Be a Redhead while searching for beauty products that actually worked for my hair and skin tone. As a fair-skinned Irish redhead, I’ve always noticed a lack of inclusive products designed specifically for us. When I came across How to Be a Redhead, I immediately connected with their mission to create accessible, high-quality beauty products made by redheads, for redheads.
My sister was the first person who really inspired me to experiment with makeup. When we were younger, she would create makeup tutorial videos and sometimes asked to do my makeup! She had such a natural confidence when it came to beauty, and watching her creativity made me want to find that same sense of self-expression. For years, I struggled to find shades that felt natural and flattering. I often found myself purchasing products created for brunettes.
I hated being a redhead. As a shy kid growing up with red hair, I never loved the immediate attention. I would always receive compliments on my hair by older women, but never kids my own age. While most people meant no harm, it was frustrating to feel like my hair defined me before anything else. It was the teasing, the jokes, and the remarks that made me feel like my hair was a spectacle rather than just a part of me. I would not say I was bullied when I was younger, but I will say that people always seemed to have something to say about my hair.
It took me a while to truly appreciate my uniqueness. After all the sunburns, unwanted comments, stereotypes, and not-so-funny nicknames, I realized I have something that sets me apart in a way that’s special. My red hair isn’t just a physical trait. It’s a part of who I am. I love how my hair tells a story. It carries generations of history and reflecs my Irish heritage which makes me feel connected to something bigger than myself.
Redheads make up about 2% of the world's population. As for redheads with green eyes (like me), that's even rarer. Around 1 in 16 redheads (~6%) are born with green eyes. With a little math, that means redheads with green eyes are about 0.9% of the world’s population. Now, that’s unique!
I’m really excited to be part of a community that celebrates redheads. How to Be a Redhead is making a real impact by creating products that not only suit our unique features but also encourage us to embrace them with confidence.
As an ambassador, I’m looking forward to sharing my experiences, trying out redhead-friendly beauty products, and helping others feel seen and supported.
